yesterday i had one of those productive days, the kind you're supposed to have every weekend. got nine hours sleep then we put together our week's menu. off to the market for boreks and one week of groceries. safeway stop over, exact tram timings then off one stop early to the video store for the queen (fine film!) and weeklies. then home for a video, three loads of washing, two loads of dishes and the final unpackings of upstairs. downstairs for more films, baking zucchini muffins, cooking nasi goreng and vanilla mousse. many walks in between. telly. internerd. love and other indoor sports. no bored games. no board games. visitors though. ugg boots n tracksuits 4 life. i am o.l.d.
luella's zucchini muffins
2 cups of self raising flour
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 large grated zucchini
2 tbs apple sauce
2 tbs better than cream cheese
oregano
125 ml melted nuttelex
2/3 cup soy milk
1 tsp egg-like beaten into soymilk
salt n pepper to taste
mix dry ingredients incl zucchini into bowl. then make a well. in a jug mix wet stuff. pour into well. mix for a bit then put into non-stick muffin tray. bake in 180 degree oven for 20-25 mins. my oven is electric so they're most awesome when cut in half and grilled to brown amazingness.

the kids that hung out in kenmore square were older, out of school, and a lot of them played in bands. they didn't look punk but they were really into the music. they looked like jocks actually, the boys did. they looked like boys would would beat them up for looking weird and some of them did. i have never understood this little subculture of frat boys into hardcore but it does exist. there were always fights in kenmore square. the boys from New Kid on the Block hung out there before they got so disgustingly famous.
one night i was hanging out with some of the jocky hardcore boys, i was drunk and we were spare-changing for money. this little terror on a skateboard named damiam was chanting get the punks drunk, get the punks drunk to the throngs of normal people leaving the red sox game. the boys i was with were starting a band and i was telling them how i was learning to play bass and they thought maybe i could wear a skimpy leather outfit and play with them. one boy lifted me up and started carrying me around, he was drunk too, everyone in kenmore square was usually drunk, and all of a sudden one of the boys from New Kids on the Block was there grabbing my ass. it was Danny, the one that looks like an ape. i kicked him in the shoulder. this was before everyone knew who they were. later, when they were on mtv, my boyfriend bumped into him at a club and embarked upon a retroactive defense of my soiled honour. my girlfriend said you grabbed her ass once, he said. as if he would remember. i'm sure he grabbed asses all the time, those boys are such pricks. i don't grab a girl's ass said the superstar, i FEEL a girl's ass. but tell her i'm sorry. thanks, Danny.

today the war started and we met at the state library at 5pm and walked together in the cold wind to the victorian barracades on st kilda road, singing and chanting with united hope in the hopelessness of it all.

there's also a workers against war march tomorrow at 12 noon starting at trades hall which i think is on queensbury st? by the end of this eve it became apparent that anybody (everybody?) is welcomed in this march and i do think i'll be there as i'm working tomorrow eve and cannot get out of it as i desperately need money for rent/food due to centrelink being three weeks behind in processing youth allowance payments meaning i may be waiting up to ten weeks before receiving any money at all and im barely working because of school
which is of course comparatively a very minor problem
